San Francisco's Hills in Your Group's Own Electric Tuk Tuk
A private guide drives your group around San Francisco in an open-air electric Tuk Tuk and pulls over for photo stops.
Nobody else rides with you. The Tuk Tuk is booked for your group alone, and the guide in the driver's seat narrates the city while handling the hills, the traffic and the parking. Five adults sit comfortably, and a sixth seat works when the group includes children. The vehicle is fully electric and open at the sides, with blankets on board for foggy days.
The route is shaped around what your group wants to see. The guide works from a long list of neighborhoods and viewpoints and fits it to the length you booked, the traffic and the weather on the day.

The booking below covers the private Tuk Tuk and the guide for 2, 2.5 or 3 hours. You pick the length when you book. The price is per person and drops as the group gets bigger, and the smallest booking is two seats.
Private San Francisco Custom City Tour - Lucky Tuk Tuk (max 6)Private electric Tuk Tuk with a guide · 2, 2.5 or 3 hours · Departs 2870 Hyde St at 9:00 AM or 1:00 PMwww.viator.comWhat Each Length Adds

The two-hour option covers the Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio, Lombard Street, Chinatown, Little Italy and Union Square. Two and a half hours adds Alamo Square and the Painted Ladies, with longer photo stops elsewhere. The three-hour option keeps the full two-hour route and adds Golden Gate Park, Alamo Square and Haight-Ashbury.
At the bridge the Tuk Tuk pulls in at a viewpoint, such as Fort Point directly beneath it or Crissy Field, depending on timing and access. It does not drive across. Lombard's crooked block is on the route, and the operator says it may swap in a nearby viewpoint when traffic there is extremely heavy.
Out at the Viewpoints, Past the Museums

The guide pulls over at viewpoints so the group can step out, stretch and take pictures, and will take the group shot for you. The tour passes museums and attractions without going in, so places like the Walt Disney Family Museum in the Presidio are seen from the road.
Climbing in means a high step up into the Tuk Tuk. The guide carries a folding step stool for anyone who needs a boost. Food and alcohol stay off the vehicle, non-alcoholic drinks in plastic bottles are fine, and meals are not part of the booking.
Fog, Rain and the Clear Covers
Tours run in light rain and fog. The Tuk Tuk carries heated seats, blankets, ponchos and clear rain covers. The covers keep you dry, and one rider who went on a rainy day wrote in November 2025 that with the plastic over the vehicle there was no view. The operator cancels for a major storm and offers a full refund or a new date.
Dress in layers even on a sunny morning. The operator suggests a light jacket or fleece, long pants and closed-toe shoes, and notes that the waterfront and the hilltops can feel cool on sunny days.
Seats, Ages and the Two-Seat Floor
Everyone needs a seat and a seatbelt of their own, so no child rides on a lap. The booking prices every rider from age 3 up the same way, and the smallest booking is two seats, so a solo traveler books two. The operator takes children from 3 and suggests 5 and up for comfort and attention span. One line on the booking page still says ages 5 and older, so if your youngest is 3 or 4, put the age in the special requirements box when you book.
On booster seats the two sources differ. The booking page says child and booster seats are not provided, and the operator's own FAQ says boosters are available on request. Ask in that same box, and bring your own if the reply does not confirm one.
There is no room on board for wheelchairs, walkers, strollers or luggage. Anything you bring has to fit on your lap or at your feet. The operator says small folding mobility aids can sometimes fit and asks you to check before booking.
📍 Meet at 2870 Hyde Street, on the Hyde Street side of the Argonaut Hotel at the corner of Jefferson, in the white passenger loading zone. Do not wait at the hotel's Jefferson Street entrance, and do not go to Umbrella Alley, where tours used to start. There is no hotel pickup.
Arrive 5 to 10 minutes early. Late arrivals and no-shows lose the booking with no refund or new date, and cancelling at least 24 hours ahead gets a full refund. Tips are not included. The guide carries a card for tipping by phone or credit card, and the operator says most guests tip 15 to 20 percent.
The ride ends back in Fisherman's Wharf, with the rest of the day free for the waterfront.
