Founded in 1874, the Nat is the oldest scientific institution in Southern California and the third oldest west of the Mississippi. Inside, multi-story galleries spotlight native plants and coastal ecosystems, accompanied by interactive exhibits, fossil labs, and a giant-screen theater.
