San Diego Air & Space Museum Gillespie Field Annex

Tucked into the northeastern corner of Gillespie Field, the site functions as an additional exhibit area, storage space, and restoration facility. Beyond military jets, the collection spans private sport aircraft and small racing planes, with aircraft such as the S-3 Viking, the P2 Neptune, and Baron Hilton’s Staggerwing. In the shop, skilled volunteers repair historic planes and build authentic reproductions, taking on projects like the Boeing FB5 and Aeronca L-3.
