Salsa Before the Night Out, Upstairs on Washington Avenue
A private hour of salsa or bachata in a South Beach studio, set to your level, with no partner needed.
Salsa Central is a Latin dance studio in Suite 211 of the Bank of America building at 930 Washington Avenue, and it says it has been teaching Miami to dance for over 25 years. This booking is one private hour there, in salsa or bachata, for one to five people. No partner is needed, and the hour is built for first-timers as much as for people who have taken classes before.
The studio photos on this page show a full group class. A private booking is your party and an instructor.

The price is per person and falls as the group grows. On the booking calendar as of October 17, 2026, one person pays USD 85, while two pay 55 each, three pay 45 each, four pay 40 each and five pay 37 each, with fees and taxes included.

The hour runs in a set order. Your instructor opens with a warm-up and a review of the basic steps, then moves into partner work and patterns matched to your experience.
If you are torn between styles, the studio's FAQ says bachata is usually easier for beginners in the first few weeks, with a simpler basic step and slower music. Its instructors page lists one name, director Ricky Torres from Bogotá, Colombia, with over 25 years of teaching, and the listing does not say which instructor takes a given booking.
The listing's only review so far, from November 2025, reads: "We loved how the steps were broken down clearly, and by the end we were dancing together with confidence."
You Pick the Day, the Studio Picks the Hour

Booking fixes the date and leaves the hour to the studio. As of October 17, 2026, the calendar opens Monday through Friday only, and after you book the studio contacts you with what it has free that day.
The listing's directions name 4:00, 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 PM as possible start times depending on other bookings, while the calendar posts afternoon hours from 2:00 PM. Keep the late afternoon and early evening clear until your time comes through. The calendar does not sell same-day lessons.
Sneakers Are Fine, Flip-Flops Are Not
The studio asks for comfortable clothes you can move in. Dance shoes are preferred and clean sneakers are fine for beginners, but sandals, flip-flops and shoes without support are not permitted. Pack real shoes, even on a beach day.
The booking takes ages 16 and up. The listing rates the lesson suitable for all fitness levels, and also says it is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health.
The listing also ticks wheelchair accessible, and the directions go up by elevator. The studio's own website says nothing about access, so use the special-requirements box on the booking form to flag any needs before the day.
Where the Steps Go Next
The studio says it hosts a Salsa and Bachata social on the third Sunday of every month, 6:00 to 9:00 PM, at Pamplemousse, 910 West Avenue, Miami Beach, with a venue cover that includes one drink.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before your lesson; inside that window nothing is refunded.
On the day, walk around to the back of the Bank of America building at 930 Washington Avenue, where the studio's entrance is, and take the elevator up to Suite 211.
