Saks Afridi: SpaceMosque

Multidisciplinary artist Saks Afridi constructs a speculative narrative around a forgotten global event at the turn of the millennium. Through recovered artifacts, sound, archival traces, and fictional news reports, the exhibition presents a fragmented account of collective prayers answered across multiple cities. At the centre of the work is the reported emergence of a mysterious, otherworldly vessel that operated as a spiritually conscious prayer gateway bridging technology, architecture, memory, and faith. This presentation expands with immersive elements and speculative designs created alongside Toronto Metropolitan University architectural-science students.
