Sail From Coconut Grove Toward Stiltsville on Your Own Boat
Coconut Grove toward Key Biscayne and Stiltsville under sail, in private charters from three hours to an overnight.
You hire this sailboat whole: one 40-foot Beneteau Oceanis 400 named Mystiko, a US Coast Guard certified captain, and up to six people of your choosing on Biscayne Bay. There is no fixed loop. The captain plans the route with you after booking, matched to the hours you bought and the conditions on the day.
The wheel is not off limits. The operator says its captain is happy to let guests help and share sailing duties, and a guest wrote in November 2024: "He encouraged us to be as involved in the sailing as we wanted, whether it was steering the boat or handling the ropes."

Six charter lengths sit behind the booking below, from a three-hour sail to an overnight. Choose the length first. It decides how far the boat can go.
Private Sailing on the Miami Bay - Biscayne BayA private 40-foot sailboat for up to six, from three hours to an overnight, with the route planned around your group.www.viator.comHow Far Each Charter Length Reaches

Three and four hours keep you inside Biscayne Bay. The listing's four-hour notes allow enough time to sail around the bay, get close to the Miami waterfront and Key Biscayne, and stop in the water. The operator's own half-day plan sails from Coconut Grove to the waterfront mansions of Key Biscayne, anchors for a swim, then passes the Cape Florida Lighthouse on the way to Stiltsville, the houses on stilts in the shallows.
Five hours lets the boat leave the bay, heading into open ocean south of Key Biscayne and returning past Fisher Island. Reef snorkeling needs five hours or more, good conditions and a departure at or before 10 AM. Elliott Key, 18 nautical miles south, needs about eight. The captain still makes the call on the day.
Anchor, Swim, and Decide What Goes on the Grill

The listing's swim stop is an anchorage on either side of the Rickenbacker bridge, with the city across the water. On board are water, ice, a fridge, towels, a toilet and an outdoor shower.
Food is an add-on you arrange ahead. The four- and six-hour option notes put a meal at USD 45 per person, grilled on board. You can bring your own drinks; the operator says there is no corkage fee. In the six-hour notes, snorkel gear and paddleboards carry a fee, and the operator also offers a rope swing off the side as a paid extra.
Three Costs That Come After Checkout
The listing quotes a price per person, but it behaves like a price for the boat. Up to four travelers, the per-person figures add up to about the same total. A fifth and sixth traveler raise it, and Friday to Sunday costs more than Monday to Thursday. The operator's own pricing follows the same shape.
Three costs come later:
- The US Coast Guard certified captain's charge is excluded and, in the listing's words, paid directly upon boarding. Only the overnight option prints a figure, USD 50, so ask the amount for your length when the operator confirms.
- Gratuity is not included. The listing suggests 15 to 20 percent.
- Food and gear extras, as above.
Where You Board Is Settled After You Book
The listing gives an approximate meeting point and says the exact spot is coordinated after booking, based on your route, your preferences and the weather. Coconut Grove is the operator's primary departure. Pickups from Key Biscayne, Coral Gables or South Beach can be arranged on request, and the operator marks South Beach as costing extra. A guest review from June 2026 describes being taken out to the sailboat by small boat through a marina.
The listing rates the trip suitable for all fitness levels and not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. The operator's FAQ, pricing and about pages say nothing about step-free boarding, so raise mobility needs when you confirm. Service animals are allowed.
Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund; the listing also flags that trips can be cancelled for bad weather. Book a late-afternoon slot and the sail home runs into dusk, with the city lights coming up across the bay.
