Description

Part of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's Flaxman Library network, this non-circulating research setting focuses on innovations in construction, materials, and embellishment. Alongside late 20th- and 21st-century designer pieces, the physical archive spans 19th-century lingerie, occupational uniforms, and a comprehensive fabric library.

Print holdings include vintage periodicals dating from the 1890s, look books, and 3,200 publications, alongside an expanding collection of 800 videos of runway presentations and technical instruction.
