Description

This 100-foot Town lattice truss bridge spans Marsh Creek on Waterworks Road, built in the 1850s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Closed to vehicles since 1968, the structure carries a visible layer of visitors' signatures and names across its interior walls. Both Union and Confederate armies used the crossing during the Gettysburg Campaign and its aftermath. Today, the spot invites visitors to walk across the covered bridge, hang out along the shore, or watch little fish swim near a small nearby dam.
