Quick Tips for Running Central Park
Start at Columbus Circle, leave your bag at the running shop, and take the full Central Park loop light.
🏃 The Runner's Loop Setup
Heading to Central Park for a run and unsure where to change or stash your bag? The setup is simpler than it looks once you know where to go.
Start at Columbus Circle, by the subway stop and the park's 59th Street entrance, a regular meetup for run clubs. Run in and you are onto the main loop, with painted running lanes and plenty of other runners to pace off of.
Two floors up in the Time Warner Center mall, Fleet Feet holds runners' bags and keeps lockers and restrooms. Ask a day ahead, and skip mornings with local run club events, when space fills up fast. The lockers fit about a 20 inch pack, enough for the essentials, and carry your own lock. The mall restrooms stay clean and roomy for changing.
One thing to check, Fleet Feet keeps daytime hours, roughly 10 AM to 8 PM and a little shorter on Sunday. An 8 or 9 AM start lands before it opens, while after 10 AM the bag drop is simple. Confirm the day's hours before you go.
