Rosie the Riveter Park
4.5 (88)park
Honoring WWII defense workers, this compact park lines an undulating walking path with open-air history displays.
Description

Carved out in 1959 from surplus land during the creation of Skylinks Golf Course, the site was originally Douglas Park before a 2007 renaming honored the women of the local Douglas Aircraft Plant and area shipyards. A lap takes roughly five minutes to circle, weaving past scattered historical markers along an uncrowded route used for dog walks and light exercise. Upkeep is tidy and reliable, though road traffic nearby keeps it from feeling like a secluded retreat.
