Description

Across the canyon floor, multiple Southern California plant communities converge, spanning coastal sage scrub, chaparral, and oak woodland alongside historical remnants of early Kumeyaay settlements. Fed by a localized watershed extending no further east than Scripps Ranch, the creek deepens and widens until it drains into Mission Bay, flanked by terrain frequented by coyotes, foxes, and mule deer, as well as raccoons, skunks, and rabbits.
