🗺️ Rink, then lunch

⛸️ Stop 1 · Free sessions and the evening shows

Roebling Rink fills Emily Warren Roebling Plaza, directly under the Brooklyn Bridge, and runs daily Nov 14 through Jan 31. The two opening sessions, 10:30 to noon and 12:30 to 2, are free admission only; free tickets are online while supplies last. You book a 90-minute block but skate 60 minutes, counted from check-in. Crafts with park educators run 11 to 4, the Brooklyn Museum's truck parks noon to 4, and holiday movies screen all day. Milk performs and joins the 6:30–8 skate, then the NYC Gay Men's Chorus sings 8 to 8:30; evening slots are paid skating, not free admission. Every guest acknowledges a waiver at checkout, and weather closures are rescheduled by email.

🍫 Stop 2 · A warm table on Water Street

Maman sits four minutes inland from the rink on Water Street, a French cafe with blue and white tile, ample seating and a play area for kids. Pair it with one session instead of two trips: skate 10:30 and eat around 11:45, or eat at noon and take the 12:30 ice. Doors run 7:30 AM to 6 PM weekdays and 8 AM to 6 PM weekends, with the kitchen serving until 4 PM daily. Beignets, chocolate chip cookies and pistachio orange cake share the case with the breakfast sandwich.

🧤 Trains, ferry and what to pack

High Street (A and C), York Street (F) and Clark Street (2 and 3) are within walking distance; the park also lists 4, 5 and R, and NYC Ferry docks at Fulton Ferry Landing. Parking is metered and capped at three hours. Dress for wind off the water: this rink sits outdoors along the waterfront, so bring a coat, gloves, socks and a hat. Skates are $12, or $8 for NYC residents, helmets and skate buddies $5 each, and lockers $6 (the venue FAQ still says $5), sold only at the rink. Rentals are first come, first served. Outside food and drink stay home, water is fine, and tickets are final sale but reschedulable up to five hours before the slot.
