Description

One of the most popular trails in the Washington metro area, this linear path also accommodates rollerblading as it reaches north to Rock Creek Regional Park, west of Olney and north of Rockville. At the southern end, a recent extension to Beach Drive leads into the District of Columbia, where the National Park Service closes Beach Drive to automobiles on weekends and holidays. Restrooms, drinking water, and numerous parking lots are spaced along the route.
