Description

A southern extension carries the trail onto Beach Drive into the District of Columbia, where the National Park Service closes the road to automobiles on weekends and holidays. Heading north into Rock Creek Regional Park, the linear route winds through hilly sections with scenic views and provides access to seasonal boat rentals at Lake Needwood. The smooth asphalt also makes it a regular corridor for rollerbladers across the wider Washington metro area.
