attraction
Club membership is required to fly at the field unescorted. Current AMA membership is required by all pilots.
A dedicated flying field near Barr Lake where radio-control sailplane pilots train and host regular soaring contests.
Description

Set on a large sod farm, the grounds serve as the primary flying site for the Rocky Mountain Soaring Association, an AMA-chartered club established in 1976. Its roster of over 50 pilots includes world champions and record holders. Members fly across varied soaring disciplines, ranging from hand-launch, slope, and cross-country to international competition classes like F3K, F3B, and F5J. Throughout the flying season, the open space accommodates technical practice and training alongside monthly competitive meets.
