River Trailhead

The path serves as nothing more than an entry point onto the longer multi-use trail, meaning there is little reason to take it unless you plan to continue outward. Reaching the paved Anacostia Riverwalk Trail—which is open to skaters alongside hikers and bikers—splits your options: a left turn leads about five miles toward the southern end of Anacostia Park, while heading right leads two miles out to Bladensburg Waterfront Park.
