A recreational protest swim group taking to the Willamette River in pods to champion downtown public water access.
Description

Founded by the Human Access Project in 2012, the group was formed to spotlight the deficit of water-edge access in downtown Portland. Swims are designed around visibility, generating public awareness that entering the Willamette is safe and encouraged.
The season spans June through September from the Fire Station 21 Dock on the Eastside Esplanade, with morning swims Monday through Saturday and afternoon sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
