Ride With Your Guide From Dealey Plaza to Highland Park

Photo stops at Pioneer Plaza's bronze cattle drive and the Calatrava bridge, with the Arts District and SMU along the way.

Discover Dallas Tours puts one party at a time in an air-conditioned SUV with a guide for three hours, covering downtown, the Arts District, Uptown and Highland Park. The guide pulls over at Dealey Plaza, the Omni Dallas Hotel, Pioneer Plaza, the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, the Arts District, the SMU campus and the AT&T Discovery District, and talks through the rest from the car. Tell the operator which stops matter to you when you book. One 2025 traveler got a phone call before the tour to go over what they wanted to see. The company was founded in 2007.

Booking is through Viator with instant confirmation, and it closes 48 hours before the start time. As of October 17, 2026, the price is per person and drops as the party grows: USD 350 for one traveler, USD 205 each for two, USD 160 each for three and USD 135 each for four. One booking covers up to four people, and the listing asks groups of five or more to call the operator for a custom arrangement. Gratuities are not included.

Dealey Plaza, Then a Red Pegasus and a Bronze Cattle Drive

Downtown carries the history. The tour spends about 15 minutes at Dealey Plaza, where the guide goes through the day of President Kennedy's assassination, stops for a photo of the Sixth Floor Museum and visits the Kennedy Memorial. The West End Historic District and the Old Red Courthouse go by from the car. About ten minutes at the Omni Dallas Hotel covers the Magnolia Pegasus, the restored red horse now mounted on an oil derrick, and another ten at Pioneer Plaza brings you to bronze longhorns driven by cowboys on horseback. Cross the stepping stones to the top of Pioneer Plaza for the view down the herd. One 2023 couple wrote that the guide took their photos at the stops.

North Along Turtle Creek to Highland Park and SMU

The drive north follows Turtle Creek into Highland Park, past large mansions and the neighborhood's Teddy Bear sculptures, with the guide covering the area's ties to Beverly Hills. This stretch is narrated from the car, and Knox Street and the Katy Trail pass by on the same side of town. Ask for Highland Park history when you book and again on the day. A 2025 reviewer who requested it at booking still wished for more of it. The stop here is about ten minutes on the Southern Methodist University campus, home of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

The Calatrava Bridge, the Arts District and Golden Boy

West of downtown, the tour crosses the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, and stops for about 15 minutes. The bridge stop is the skyline photo of the day. The Perot Museum of Nature and Science and the American Airlines Center in Victory Park, home of the Mavericks and the Stars, pass by the window. The Arts District gets about 15 minutes, with photos on the Hall Texas Sculpture Walk, Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, and the Belo Mansion's ties to Bonnie and Clyde. At the AT&T Discovery District there is time for the century-old Golden Boy statue and the 104-foot Media Wall. One 2023 couple said the guide let them choose whether to get out at several stops.
