Ride to the Foot of Niagara Falls and Back Tonight
A single day from Times Square to the American side of Niagara Falls, including the boat ride into the gorge.
Most New York itineraries file Niagara Falls under a different trip. Seven to eight hours of road each way tends to do that.
This one keeps it inside a single calendar day. A motor coach pulls away from Seventh Avenue at 4:00 a.m., crosses upstate New York with one rest stop, and reaches the American brink around 11:00 a.m. What waits there is the close version: the Maid of the Mist runs into the basin below the Horseshoe, where the falls stop reading as scenery and start behaving like weather. By mid-afternoon you are back on the coach heading south.

The version with the boat is the one that changes the day. Maid of the Mist publishes its own season calendar, and the 2026 season runs from April 24 to November 8. The spring opening date moves with ice conditions in Lake Erie, which makes the late-April and early-November weeks the ones to confirm against the operator's schedule before you book.
Four setups sit under this one listing. Three of them include the round trip from Times Square. The fourth is the boat and the audio guide on their own, starting in Niagara Falls.

The boat leaves from the landing at the bottom of the American gorge and turns upriver. It passes the American Falls and Bridal Veil first, close enough to watch the water break apart on the rock pile at their base. Then it holds in the bowl under the Horseshoe.
Every passenger gets a free hooded poncho before boarding. Everyone still gets wet. Maid of the Mist puts the boat tour at twenty minutes. The tour itinerary allows thirty for boarding and the ride together.
The elevator inside the Observation Tower is currently the only way back up from the lower gorge, and the boat price covers both that elevator and admission to the deck. Keep a hand free. Spray on the upper deck arrives sideways.
Three Hours on Foot in the State Park

After the boat, the walking starts. Prospect Point is the closest rail to the American Falls, and it currently sits inside a construction zone. The park is expanding the Crow's Nest there, and says the attractions stay open through the work.
Luna Island sits between the American and Bridal Veil, near enough that the two sheets of water read as separate falls. Goat Island splits the river into the American Falls on one side and the Horseshoe on the other, and the path across it ends at Terrapin Point, the American vantage on the Horseshoe, looking down the curve from the top.
Walking into the park costs nothing. Lunch is on your own, and the three hours fill faster than they sound once the boat and the walk are inside them.
What Nineteen Hours on the Coach Looks Like
Departure is 4:00 a.m. from the Lids store at Two Times Square, 714 Seventh Avenue between 47th and 48th. There is no hotel pickup on this tour, which makes getting to Seventh Avenue in the dark the first thing to solve. New York's subway runs around the clock, and that is the part of a 4:00 a.m. call time working in your favor.
North of the city the drive takes seven to eight hours with a single rest stop. The guide works in English and Spanish, alternating between them, which stretches the commentary and leaves gaps to sleep through.
The coach returns to the same corner between 11:00 p.m. and midnight. Travelers who want the quiet version can pick the audio guide, downloaded to a phone before the day in English, Spanish, or Mandarin.
Four Versions of the Same Day
The guided tour with Maid of the Mist is the full set: coach from Times Square, a live guide at the falls, boat tickets, tower access.
The guided tour with audio guide keeps the coach and the guide and leaves out the boat. The plain guided tour keeps the coach and the guide with no boat and no audio.
The fourth option carries no transport at all. It is the boat ticket and the audio guide, starting on Prospect Street in Niagara Falls, for people who are already up there. All four sit under one listing. Check which one is selected before you pay.
The pin above is Niagara Falls State Park, where the day actually happens. The coach picks up and drops off in Manhattan, at 714 Seventh Avenue.
Worth settling before you go:
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. Inside that window the booking holds no refund.
- Confirmation is manual. Wait for it before you build the rest of the week around this date.
- The day asks for moderate fitness, with long stretches of standing and walking on wet stone.
- New York law requires a child restraint for riders under 8. The operator does not supply seats. Bring your own, or tell them well ahead.
- Travelers under 18 need an adult with them at check-in.
- Lunch and hotel transfers are not included.
Step off at Seventh Avenue near midnight and Times Square is still lit, which makes the last hour of a nineteen-hour day feel shorter than it was.
