Ride the Motorcade Route to Dealey Plaza, Then Walk It

It opens on the aftermath, at the old police headquarters where Ruby shot Oswald, and ends on the grassy knoll.

Ride the motorcade route to Dealey Plaza, then walk it.

Epic Dallas Tours runs this 80-minute loop through the downtown blocks where November 1963 played out, part in an air-conditioned van and part on foot. The booking includes live narration and a multimedia presentation, and travelers describe a screen in the van where the guide plays photos and film at the points he is talking about. The operator bills its guide, Rick, as an Emmy-winning investigative journalist and JFK researcher. Reviews name Rick or Richard as the guide, though the listing does not promise who leads a given departure.

The walking happens in Dealey Plaza: about 20 minutes in the plaza and 15 on the grassy knoll, by the listing's count, with every earlier stop marked as a pass-by.

Most days the booking calendar shows two departures, 10:00 AM and 1:15 PM. One booking holds up to eight travelers, and the listing sells no more than eight seats on a departure. Ticket types start at age six.

It Opens on the Aftermath, Then Follows the Motorcade

The loop starts at the end of the story. The meeting point sits beside the John F. Kennedy Memorial, and from there the van passes the former Dallas Police Headquarters, where Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963, two days after the assassination.

Then it turns onto Main Street and follows the motorcade's route toward Dealey Plaza. One traveler in April 2026 singled out that opening and wrote that the group saw the entrance and exit to the old jail. Along the way the listing also passes the Giant Eyeball, a downtown sculpture that makes for a lighter detour.

Twenty Minutes in the Plaza, Fifteen on the Knoll

Dealey Plaza is where you get out. The listing gives it 20 minutes, walking the plaza and standing where Kennedy was shot, then 15 on the grassy knoll, the small hillside at the center of decades of second-gunman theories.

The Sixth Floor Museum looks down on all of it from the old Texas School Book Depository, but this tour does not go inside: the operator's own tour list marks the museum as not included. One traveler suggested following the tour with a museum visit.

Travelers do not agree on where the guide lands. One in November 2025 called it a balanced discussion of the theories and the evidence, and another in July 2026 wrote that he debunked the conspiracies.

Leave Room After It

The clock on this tour is loose. Several travelers wrote that their guide kept going past the scheduled end, one by about fifteen minutes and another still talking after an hour and forty-five minutes. Those reviews describe a 65-minute tour; the listing now says 80. Keep a timed museum entry or a flight well clear of it.

In summer, two reviewers in August 2026 warned about the heat on the walking part, so dress for it and travel light.

Heavy Subject, Older Kids, and Wheelchair Requests

The operator says the content is not for the faint of heart, and this is a story of two killings. Ticket types on the listing start at age six. Parents who brought children of 9, 12, 13 and 14 wrote that the kids stayed with it, and one traveler called it kid friendly but heavy subject matter.

Wheelchair users should ask when booking: the operator's accessibility statement says it can supply a vehicle with a lift or ramp on advance notice. The statement does not describe the walking part in the plaza.

📍 Meet at 598 Main Street, the large crosswalk where Record Street meets Main, on the northeast corner of the Old Red Courthouse and just west of the Kennedy Memorial. The listing says pickup is included, but this crosswalk is the only pickup point it names, so plan on getting yourself there. Pickup is set 10 minutes before the departure time.

Travelers wrote that the guide texted ahead with where to park and how to find him. One in April 2026 had trouble telling which of several unmarked white vans on the street was the right one, so read that message before you go. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund.

Bring your questions. Several reviewers mention how patiently the guide answers them.
