Two historic Boston sites—the Old State House and Old South Meeting House—tell the interwoven story of the Revolution.
Description

Constructed in 1713, the Old State House served as the center of royal government in the Massachusetts Bay colony and the focal point for events including the Boston Massacre. Built in 1729, the Old South Meeting House was colonial Boston’s largest building and the site of mass meetings, most notably the gathering that sparked the Boston Tea Party. Today, both Freedom Trail sites function as museums, presenting exhibits, tours, and public programs centered on America’s struggle to create and sustain a free society.
