Retro VW Van Serves Mexican Food in Soho

Grab a solo lunch of shrimp tacos and a light beer in a garage style room with a community kitchen mission.

🌮 Baja Fish Taco Stop

Baja fish tacos come out of a retro VW van parked inside Tacombi at Fonda Nolita, a garage style room at 267 Elizabeth Street in Soho designed to feel like a trip to Mexico. Shrimp tacos widen the order, and the guacamole con totopos arrives with two spicy sauces and plenty of lime.

A light beer suits the easygoing pace, and the welcoming layout makes a solo meal feel natural. The team also takes requests for birthday parties and group events, a handy option for a bigger crew.

The kitchen opens daily at 11 AM and closes at 10 PM Sunday through Thursday, with service until 11 PM on Friday and Saturday. That covers a light lunch, an early dinner, or a later weekend plate of tacos. Beyond the dining room, the Tacombi Community Kitchen prepares and distributes thousands of meals weekly to fight food insecurity.
