🧺 Sunday Glean Shift

🥕 The Market Floor Recovery

Volunteers gather at Hollywood Farmers Market along Ivar Avenue to collect surplus farm produce directly from vendor stalls. Working across rows of regional growers, teams collect crates of unsold fruits and vegetables to prevent fresh food from going to waste. All collected produce is donated directly to local hunger-relief organizations.

📦 Sorting, Weighing, and Lifting

Running from noon to 2:15 PM, this volunteer shift centers on sorting, weighing, and packing surplus market goods for local hunger relief. Volunteers may lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds (about 18 kg) as growers pack up their stalls. Participants must be at least 12 years old, and anyone under 16 requires an accompanying guardian.

📋 Arrival, Signups, and Fit

The shift takes place on Sunday, November 22, from noon to 2:15 PM at 1600 Ivar Avenue. Advance registration is required; do not show up without confirmation. Arrive via Metro B Line at Hollywood/Vine, then head east to Jitlada for southern Thai curry.
