Rent a Swan Boat on Echo Park Lake From $13 per Adult an Hour

Pedal a white swan around the fountain with the downtown skyline behind it, or come back after dark when the fleet lights up.

Book your boat before you go.

🦢 Day Swans and Night Lights

Two versions of the same hour. By day you pedal a white swan past the fountain and turn it until the downtown skyline sits behind its neck. After sunset the boats come back lit, LEDs along each hull, and the lake holds the city twice — once in the skyline, once in the water. Quiet enough to talk, slow enough to stay out. El Moro for churros and The Holloway for a burger and a beer are both a short walk from the dock.

Food is welcome aboard: snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are fine, and a small lap-sized cooler fits. Alcohol is not allowed, and breaking that rule ends the rental without a refund.

An hour costs $13 per adult and $7.50 per child, with no added taxes or fees. Reservations are required and walk-ups are turned away. Whoever signs the waiver must be 18 with a valid government photo ID, and riders under 15 need a parent or guardian aboard. Arrive close to your booked time — a late start can cut the ride short, and on the last departure of the night you may not be boarded.

Hours follow the season: Sep 8–Nov 1, Mon–Thu 9 AM–10 PM and Fri–Sun and holidays until 11 PM; Nov 2–Mar 5, 9 AM–10 PM daily; Mar 6–Sep 6, 9 AM–11 PM daily. Night rides start at sunset, the last boat leaves an hour before closing, and all hours are weather permitting.

The boathouse is at 751 Echo Park Ave, about twelve minutes on foot from Sunset & Alvarado on Metro Line 2.
