Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park
4.8 (3,579)park
Around $5.00
Tucked into the Oakland hills, this 1,830-acre park holds the East Bay's largest remaining natural stand of coast redwoods.
Description

Miles of shaded hiking and equestrian trails cut through fern-lined creeks, lush groves, and towering evergreen canopies. Extensively logged in the mid-1800s to supply building materials across the San Francisco Bay Area, the terrain has since recovered into a stately forest of 150-foot coast redwoods. Renamed in 2019, the park honors Dr. Aurelia Henry Reinhardt, president of Mills College and one of five civic leaders elected to the Park District’s inaugural Board of Directors in 1934.
