Two hours on foot through the park's design history, its trees and birds, and the corners films have borrowed.
This walk starts just inside the park at Seventh Avenue and 59th Street and spends about two hours on how Central Park was made and what lives in it: the 1858 design behind its bridges and lawns, its trees and birds, and the spots films have borrowed. The listing names no fixed stops, so the guide shapes the route on the day.
Guests in 2025 and 2026 describe The Pond, The Mall, Bethesda Terrace and Strawberry Fields. One in January 2026 lingered in the Ramble and spotted a Cooper's hawk there.

The booking covers the guide. Adults and seniors pay USD 44.20 on weekdays and USD 46.94 on weekends; children 6 to 12 pay less, and the booking form has no band for children under six. Groups are capped at twelve travelers. Departures run every day at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and sales close at 11:00 PM the night before.

Recent guests keep naming the same threads. One in August 2026 came away with the conception and planning of the park and how each section was designed. Guests in June and July 2026 had the buildings around the park pointed out in the skyline, and an August 2026 guest had filming locations pointed out along the route.
The itinerary notes that a walking group reaches paths and views that cyclists can't. There are pauses for photos, and guests in 2025 and 2026 say the guide offered to take them.
John Lennon's Corner and the Park's Wildlife

Strawberry Fields, the memorial to John Lennon on the west side, comes up often. A June 2026 guest singled out the stories of Lennon and the history of Strawberry Fields; a March 2026 guest listed it next to the park's statues and bridges.
Wildlife depends on the day. Earlier guests mention turtles sunning on rocks, and that January 2026 walk through the Ramble turned up a Cooper's hawk. The walk may not end where it starts. In a September 2025 account, the Imagine mosaic in Strawberry Fields was among the last stops.
Who Leads the Walk These Days
The listing still introduces Michael Hunt as your guide and credits him with more than 800 tours. Since January 2025, though, the guest reviews that name a guide almost all name Chris, and many of them single out how much he knows about the park. A few reviews from May to August 2026 name Arty instead.
Treat the guide's name as something that can change before your date.
A Little Over Two Hours, in Rain or Snow
The listing sells 120 minutes, and its own itinerary describes a stroll of a little over two hours. Leave room after it. Distance estimates vary: a September 2026 guest put the route at 6.3 miles, and the owner replied that the tour covers about half that distance.
The listing asks for at least moderate fitness, allows service animals, and doesn't recommend the walk for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. It says nothing about wheelchairs or strollers; the Central Park Conservancy notes that the park's natural topography can present accessibility challenges, and its Access Map marks stairs and slopes along the paths.
Guests have walked it in drizzle, rain and snow, and the listing lets the operator cancel for bad weather or too few travelers. Cancel at least 24 hours before the start for a full refund; inside 24 hours, nothing is refunded. On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the New York City Marathon finishes inside the park, and the Central Park Conservancy warns race-day visitors of road closures and heavy crowds.
📍 Meet just inside Central Park at Seventh Avenue and 59th Street, at the entrance the park's commissioners named Artisans' Gate, precisely at the start time. Columbus Circle (A, B, C, D and 1 trains) and 57th Street (N, Q, R and W) are the nearest stops.
A March 2025 guest wished for a specific landmark, since the street names didn't match the meeting spot. An October 2025 guest says the guide got in touch before the tour about where to meet, and in January 2026 he kept a group that was running late updated by text while he waited. After that, it's two hours of lawns, bridges and stories at a pace recent guests describe as unhurried.
