Ravenswood Open Space Preserve
4.4 (393)park
Flat levee trails trace bayside salt marshes, offering wide water views and a quiet haven for migrating shorebirds.
Description

Managed by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, the 376-acre preserve safeguards wetland habitat along the bay. Routes accommodate a pedestrian and bicycle trail, skirting vegetation that shelters the endangered Ridgway’s rail and salt marsh harvest mouse alongside visiting sandpipers, dowitchers, and avocets. The grounds divide into distinct sections: a northern stretch features a 0.7-mile easy-access trail near the Dumbarton Bridge approach, while the southern area connects near Cooley Landing.
