Rainier Vista Sunrise Garden P-Patch
4.1 (11)park
Once an overgrown lot, this 24-plot community garden offers a quiet neighborhood respite with an on-site greenhouse.
Description

Neighbors founded the patch in September 2013 after dedicating a summer of weekends to clearing the 0.16-acre corner at 33rd Ave S and S Oregon St, which previously held a larger market garden. Built for Seattle Housing Authority tenants and neighbors, the grounds also include a community-built 3-bin compost station. While gardening anchors the space, the paved perimeter and open layout make it an easy stop for bikers, skaters, dog-walkers, and baby-walkers.
