Description

Constructed between 1824 and 1826 in downtown Boston, this neoclassical hall forms the central hub of Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Named for Mayor Josiah Quincy—who organized its financing without raising taxes—the interior runs along aisles of pushcarts and counter stalls offering pastries and a broad variety of quick eats. It remains a central social and culinary fixture, though the floor can get extremely crowded.
