Description

The Queens Museum occupies the New York City Building, a 1939 World's Fair pavilion that later housed the United Nations General Assembly. Changing contemporary exhibitions share the building with The Panorama of the City of New York, a 9,335 square foot architectural model of all five boroughs built for the 1964 fair. More than 895,000 buildings constructed before 1992 stand at a scale of one inch to 100 feet, and a sloping ramp lets visitors trace their own street, bridge and first apartment at eye level.
