Queens Counter Serves Honeyed Pastries and Cheese Desserts

Build a box of flaky baklava and rich kanafeh for a cash only sweets run.

Plan a cash only sweets stop.

🍯 From Honey to Kanafeh

Walk up to the counter at Al-Sham on Steinway Street and the decision starts with the trays. Flaky baklava and rich, cheese filled kanafeh lead the Middle Eastern lineup, while coconut and almond pastries arrive drizzled with honey or simple syrup.

The softer side of the case deserves a spot in your box too. Bread pudding and a cheese based custard dessert give you something spoonable to set against all those crisp, syrupy layers, and mixing the two styles is the easiest way to taste the full range in one order.

This is a takeout only counter, built for grabbing a box and heading back out, or for carrying dessert to a dinner nearby in Astoria. Bring cash, as the counter runs cash only with an ATM on site, and keep the clock in mind. Al-Sham opens every day from 11 AM to half past ten PM, late enough for an after dinner sweets run.
