Pu'u Ma'eli'eli Pillbox

The route weaves along the ridgeline across a sequence of ascents and saddles, tangled with exposed tree roots and vines that turn slick and muddy after rainfall. Near the summit, past a trail sign and a small concrete storage bin, a low opening leads into a hidden underground bunker, while walking a couple of minutes further out leads straight onto the open concrete pillbox overlooking the coast in every direction.
