Description

Adjacent to the Prospect Hill Memorial Flag Tower and Observatory, the grounds are where George Washington ordered the raising of the Grand Union Flag on January 1, 1776. Following a comprehensive August 2020 rehabilitation project, the park combines restored staircases and improved ADA accessibility with an interpretive pavement map and a lower-level loop featuring historical plaques, illuminated by dedicated safety and tower up-lighting.
