Private Food Walk From the Spirit of Detroit to Greektown
Six Detroit tastings, from corned beef egg rolls to baklava, on a downtown walk where your booking is the whole group.
This is the private version of the operator's Detroit food walk. The listing marks it as a private tour, so the only people on it are the ones in your booking, and in the listing's own words everything works around you.
It leaves at 11:00 AM from the Spirit of Detroit statue at 2 Woodward Avenue and finishes about three hours later at Astoria Pastry Shop in Greektown. The listing names six tastings along the way: corned beef egg rolls, a Coney Island hot dog, Detroit-style pizza, a Boston Cooler, baklava, and one dish the operator keeps secret until you reach it.

Pricing runs on a sliding scale that drops sharply as group size grows. As of October 15, 2026, the listing charges USD 340 per person for one or two adults, USD 185 each for three or four, USD 160 for five or six, USD 145 for seven or eight, and USD 130 for nine to twelve.
Each age group is tiered on its own ladder: on that date, a booking for two adults and one child totaled USD 1,020, because the child starts on their own 1–2 traveler bracket (USD 340) rather than a combined three-person rate. Children 2 and under go free, and one booking takes up to twelve travelers.

Between tastings, the route runs through downtown's landmarks. After the Spirit of Detroit, the listing's stops are The Fist, the monument to the boxer Joe Louis; the Art Deco lobby of the Guardian Building and its mosaics; the park at the center of downtown that it calls the Field of Mars; a run of art-filled alleys with murals by local and international artists; and the Michigan Soldiers and Sailors Monument. The listing gives most of those landmark stops about five minutes each.
Several travelers who reviewed this tour single out that half of it. One wrote that it was "almost like 2 tours in one." Another had planned a separate walking tour of the city and wrote that the guide covered more of its history than a dedicated city tour probably would have.
A Float, a Secret Stop and a Greektown Finish

The sweeter stops are where the operator's Detroit page turns coy. It describes the secret stop only as a sweet treat destination founded by a famous Detroit writer, with a heartwarming story behind it, and saves the rest for the day. The Boston Cooler it calls a Detroit original, Boston in the name notwithstanding.
The walk finishes in Greektown. The operator's page says it closes there with a classic Mediterranean pastry, and the listing puts the end at Astoria Pastry Shop. The listing gives Greektown about thirty minutes and two of the bites.
Walking, Fitness and Access
The operator's Detroit page puts the walking at around 45 minutes across the outing and says there are no hills or stairs, with the guide slowing down for anyone who walks slowly. The listing is more cautious. It asks for at least a moderate level of fitness and says the tour is not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health.
Access splits the same way. The listing marks the tour as wheelchair- and stroller-accessible, while the operator's own FAQ cautions that many of its routes are not and asks guests to contact them before booking to confirm accessibility. The operator also asks to hear about dietary restrictions before booking, since it says many of its tours cannot accommodate them. The booking form has a field for special requirements.
Booking Terms, Weather and Winter
Cancel at least 24 hours before the start for a full refund; inside 24 hours the listing refunds nothing. Gratuities are not included. The listing also marks this as a tour the operator can cancel for poor weather.
Winter does not take it off the calendar. As of October 15, 2026, the calendar showed a single departure at 11:00 AM, bookable on dates checked across all seven days of the week from October into January. A traveler who went in December named the cold as the only complaint, at 13 degrees, and wrote that the guide kept the group outside as little as possible.
📍 Meet in front of the Spirit of Detroit statue at 2 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48226. On its Detroit page the operator says to look for an orange umbrella.
The walk ends at Astoria Pastry Shop, 541 Monroe Street in Greektown, so it does not loop back. Leave room for that last pastry, and plan the rest of the day from Greektown.
