Pose With 200+ Wax Figures Across Five Times Square Floors

Five floors of wax figures beside Times Square, with a seven-minute 4D cinema and a tier system that decides what else opens.

Pose with wax figures across five Times Square floors.

The entrance on West 42nd Street is easy to walk past. Behind it, five floors hold more than two hundred figures, and almost every one of them is built to be stood next to. Nothing sits behind rope or glass. You put an arm around Jimmy Fallon at the Tonight Show desk, lean on the piano, take the shot, move on.

That format decides how the visit feels. Groups slow right down at the sets they recognize and walk straight past the rest.

Tickets come in tiers, and the tier decides how much of the building opens up. The museum floors are in every version. The extras sit on top: a 4D cinema, a 7D shooting gallery, fast track entry, a digital photo pass, a wax cast of your own hand.

Check the inclusions on the exact ticket you are buying before you pay. Tier names and contents vary between sellers, and the difference is not obvious at checkout.

The Zones That Decide Your Route

Nine named areas run across the five floors. Seasons of New York City rebuilds a city block through the year, a Radio City marquee at one end and a Thanksgiving parade float at the other. Glow Gala is the dressed-up rooftop set. The Music floor holds a New Year's Eve stage in Times Square with the confetti already down.

Marvel Hall of Heroes, Warner Bros. Icons of Horror, Star on Broadway, Walk the Runway, Guest Star on the Tonight Show and Sit in the Oval Office fill out the rest. Each one is built as a room you walk into.

What the 4D Cinema Actually Runs Now

The cinema at this branch runs Jumanji Safari Tours 4D Expedition, a seven-minute film with motion, wind and water effects in the seats. Nigel Billingsley leads the expedition, with Dr. Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Franklin Finbar and Professor Sheldon Oberon along for it. A second Jumanji attraction, Cobra Quest 7D, sits higher on the tier list.

Older listings elsewhere still describe a Marvel cinema and a Ghostbusters hyper-reality room at this address. The operator's own lineup lists neither. Read the inclusions on the ticket itself.

How Long It Takes and When to Arrive

The tour is self-guided, and the operator's own site puts a typical visit at one and a half to two hours. Add time for the 4D film if your ticket covers it, and add more for a queue at the photo sets on the Music floor.

Doors open at 10:00 AM. Closing moves with the day: 9:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, 7:00 PM from Sunday through Thursday. The operator's hours page posts last entry at the same time as closing. Arriving in the final hour leaves you the building and very little time in it. Entry runs first-come, first-served, and the operator recommends arriving early in the day. Late morning midweek is the quiet end. Weekend afternoons in Times Square are the loud end.

Things the Ticket Page Leaves Out

Cameras are allowed in every public area, which is the whole point of the place. Phones stay out the entire way round.

Every guest goes through a bag check at the door, and the operator asks visitors to arrange storage for large bags and luggage before arriving. Its own pages never promise a locker, and a travel day with a suitcase needs a plan made elsewhere. Food and drink have to be finished before you go in. The building is cashless and takes card only. The attraction is wheelchair accessible throughout, and the operator keeps no wheelchairs on site to lend.

The Behind the Scenes Tour appears on the tier lists with a caveat attached: availability is limited and subject to operational conditions. Treat it as a bonus that may not run on your day.

The door is on West 42nd Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, a few minutes from the Times Square–42nd Street subway hub and from Port Authority.

Booking online ahead of the day fixes your date and costs less than the walk-up rate. The operator's own terms treat advance tickets as final sales, and a date change on a dated ticket can carry a charge. Whatever you buy, the seller's terms shown on the booking page are the ones that apply to your order.

Step out at closing and the theatre block is at its brightest, with Bryant Park about five minutes east when the evening needs somewhere quieter to land.
