Trail open on the third Saturday of every month from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
Perched on the Marin Headlands, this historic lighthouse is reached by a hand-carved tunnel and a suspension bridge.
Description

Built in 1855 to guide ships through the entrance to San Francisco Bay, this active beacon overlooks rugged coastal cliffs, crashing surf, and the Golden Gate. The trek down involves significant elevation changes and stairs, opening out to coastal views where deer occasionally graze across the cove. While the lighthouse building itself remains off-limits due to structural integrity issues, rangers give historical talks several times a day when the grounds are open.
