Poet's Beach
4.2 (339)park
A river beach tucked beneath the Marquam Bridge, reached by a path lined with children's poetry engraved on stones.
Description

Tucked behind greenery near university buildings, this small riverfront pocket offers an impressive view of the Marquam Bridge from below. Highway traffic rumbles audibly overhead, yet the bank remains lightly frequented and relatively private, often visited by crows scavenging for freshwater clams among the rocks. Along the path, several of the engraved stones have faded with erosion and graffiti, and Willamette water conditions vary, giving the hideaway an unvarnished, distinctly urban character.
