Pilot a Submarine or Break Out of Prison on Westlake

Five team escape rooms at The Escape Game's Downtown Seattle store, each a sixty-minute mission with unlimited hints.

The Escape Game's Downtown Seattle store, at 2101 Westlake Avenue, runs five games, and a booking buys one of them. Each is a sixty-minute mission.

The company says every game spans more than one room, and that just when a game seems finished, another room opens. It also says it builds each game in-house, at a production studio it calls the Adventure Factory.

A dedicated game guide helps as needed, and the company says asking for hints carries no penalty.

As of October 18, 2026, this listing sells games Monday through Thursday only.

Pick the Room by How Hard You Want It

The company rates its games on a ten-point difficulty scale. Ruins: Forbidden Treasure sits lowest at six, and Prison Break sits highest at nine, the game the company calls its toughest. The Depths, Cosmic Crisis and Timeliner: Train Through Time each rate seven.

Prison Break starts with the team split between two prison cells. One traveler who played it as a pair wrote that it is tough for just two players.

The Depths is the one the company calls a favorite with first-time players and experienced gamers, built around a surprise puzzle in which the crew pilots a submarine together. Cosmic Crisis leans on projection mapping and an in-game sidekick named Hermes. Timeliner mixes old-school locks and keys with high-tech puzzles, on a train that runs from the Jurassic era to a glitching future. Ruins opens in the wreck of a propeller plane and works into a jungle full of temple traps.

Kids Can Play, With an Adult in the Room

The listing recommends these games for ages 13 and up and allows younger players, noting that some of the game content may be too difficult for them. An adult, 18 or older, has to play alongside anyone 14 and under, and anyone under 18 needs an adult to sign their waiver. The company says its games carry no adult language, though themes like escaping a prison can feel intense.

This listing sells one ticket type, for ages 5 to 99. The company says children 4 and under can come along free, and asks families to call before booking so it can add their spot, since every game has a player cap. One parent wrote that their kids, aged 5 and 7, had a fantastic time.

Fill Every Spot or Expect Company

Every room holds up to eight players, and so does one booking. Unless a group books every spot in a game, other players can book into the same game and join the team. The company says most games are private, and that shared games are most common on weekends, holidays and its busiest times.

One traveler wrote that the store let them know another group would be joining, and that a call got them rebooked into a private session. Two others who wrote about group size settled on six, and on two to six.

Wheelchairs, Drinks and the Exit Button

The listing marks this game as wheelchair and stroller accessible and suitable for all fitness levels. Its own booking notes, though, ask guests to call for more on wheelchair access, and the company's answer is to phone so it can help pick the best game. If anyone in the group uses a wheelchair, call the Downtown store at (206) 333-2656 before booking. One traveler described Prison Break as full of agility tricks.

Drinks are allowed if they are non-alcoholic and have a lid. Service animals are welcome, and pets are not. The doors do lock, but every door has an exit button, and anyone can step out of a game at any time.

📍 The store is at 2101 Westlake Avenue, which the listing places at Seattle re:Invent, across from Sweetgreen. The listing calls the re:Invent Garage, attached to the building, a paid garage, and the company recommends parking there. Gage Academy of Art, a neighbor at 2107 Westlake Avenue, tells its own visitors that the garage is free after 4 pm on weekdays; drivers take a ticket going in and scan it on the way out. Street parking is limited, and there are a few other garages in the area.

The South Lake Union Streetcar stops close by, at Westlake & 7th and at Westlake & 9th-Denny, and the city says the line connects to Link light rail. King County Metro's current timetable has the last weekday streetcar toward downtown leaving Westlake & 7th at about 9:20 pm, so after a late game, plan another way back.

Arrive 15 minutes before game time, and sign the waivers online before you get there. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund; after that, the listing refunds nothing.

Then a game guide takes the team into the game, and the sixty minutes start.
