🏀 Free Sports Courts on Pier 2
Entry is free, and so are the five basketball courts, ping pong, handball, and pickleball on the deck. All courts operate drop-in and first come, first served—bring your own balls and paddles. Court use is subject to athletic permits, weather, and park maintenance, so a court may already be taken when you arrive. Winter hours run 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (October through April; 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. May through September). Beside the courts, the Pier 2 Roller Rink is a separate ticket ($8 general admission, $8 skate rental, sessions vary by date).

🌉 Open Waterfront Promenade & Bridge Views
Follow the waterfront greenway north past Pier 1 for a 12-minute walk (about 0.6 miles) to Brooklyn Bridge Park's waterfront promenade framing panoramic skyline views. Empire Fulton Ferry Lawn is closed for renovation from October 12, 2026 until spring 2027, so follow on-site notices. Note that Fulton Ferry Landing has routine pile and bulkhead repair work from August through December 2026, with a work barge staged in the former Bargemusic slip. By late November the sun sets around 4:30 p.m. into blue hour across Lower Manhattan. Jane's Carousel is $4 and shuts at 5:50 p.m. (closed Mondays and Tuesdays through December). From Pier 1, Juliana's is just a 3-minute walk (0.1 miles) away.

🍕 Coal-Fired Pizza on Old Fulton
Juliana's takes no reservations or group bookings and seats complete parties only upon arrival—your entire group must be present to get a table. Lines form at peak times, so heading over right after sunset is key. Hours are lunch 11:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and dinner 4 to 9 p.m. daily (last seating 9 p.m. sharp; 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve; closed Thanksgiving and Christmas). Whole coal-fired pies only, no slices. The kitchen pauses from 3:15 to 4 p.m. to stoke the oven.
