Set near the 16th Street Overpass, this narrow roadside pocket is the farthest picnic area from central Rock Creek Park. The small shelter holds two tables alongside the only first-come grill across the park's non-reservable sections. Roadside parking accommodates roughly a dozen vehicles, with the entire space operating without advance reservations.
