The grounds cover 16 acres at the edge of the Mission District. Beyond the lawns, two play areas for children sit alongside tennis courts, a basketball court and a soccer field. Dog walkers and sunbathers share this civic backyard with people arriving from across the city.
Find it at the intersection of 19th St and Dolores St. The park opens daily from 6 AM to 10 PM, while fall and winter restroom hours run from 8 AM to half past five PM. Leave room in your plans to sit down, unpack something to eat and spend some time doing very little.
