Pick Your New York Backdrops, Get 75 Photos Back

A private two-hour walk where you choose the stops, and the guide telling you where to stand is the one holding the camera.

PhotoTrek Tours is Marc Samuels, a native New Yorker licensed by the city as a sightseeing guide since 2003. One person does both jobs here. The hand framing the shot belongs to the same person telling you what you are looking at, and the route can bend mid-walk without anyone losing the thread.

Booking confirms instantly, and the posted rate is one group price covering up to six people. Photos arrive by email within 48 hours, as a gallery link and a downloadable zip file. The listing sets the floor at 75 images from a two-hour session, and there is no cap above it.

The Famous Stops Are the Hard Ones

Times Square and the Brooklyn Bridge sit near the top of the location menu, and both fight back. New York City DOT counted about 34,000 pedestrians on the bridge walkway on an average fall weekend day, against 17,000 in 2021. The walkway averages 16 feet across. At several points it narrows to under five feet. Knowing which span has room at which hour is a large part of what a guide is for on a Saturday.

The Quieter Half of the Menu

The same list holds Greenwich Village, SoHo, the Upper East Side, Chinatown, and Central Park, where the walk slows down. Residential blocks of brownstones hand you a frame with no crowd to edit out. Central Park asks nothing of visitors shooting with a handheld camera or a tripod, and it bans drones of any size. The booking's itinerary lists one hotel interior as well, a Midtown landmark that opened in 1907.

The Subway Lesson Is Part of the Booking

A subway tutorial is written into the inclusions, next to the photographs. You get the orientation talk with it: where to eat, which blocks to skip, how the uptown and downtown platforms split. A MetroCard is not included. The fare is yours.

Book the Night Before, Not the Morning Of

Departures run seven days a week, the first at 8:30 AM and the last at 3:45 PM. Booking closes 16 hours ahead of the start time, which rules out a same-morning decision. Bad weather gets the session moved to another day, and a session that cannot be moved is refunded.

📍 The meeting point is the New Victory Theater box office at 209 West 42nd Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, directly across from the Aladdin marquee. The theater has steps on two sides. Aim for the box office entrance. Comfortable shoes and light bags are the operator's two requests. Full refunds run until 24 hours before departure. Start at 8:30 AM and you are back on the street by 10:30, with a New Yorker's restaurant list already in your pocket.
