A living history plantation featuring a working water wheel, period-costumed presentations, and well-maintained colonial grounds.
Description

Originally owned by the richest man in Colonial New York, this living history plantation features a working water wheel, a Manor House, a bread oven, and a Dutch barn. Staff in period costumes present the work performed at each location, demonstrating how grain was milled by the enslaved staff, barreled, and shipped for trade. Visitors can also explore an interactive mill where they can rotate the small wheel and open the flood gates to the big wheel. Beyond the historic buildings, the grounds offer scenic colonial landscapes and picnic tables.
