Pershing Square Frames Downtown Towers Above Concrete
Pershing Square in Los Angeles pairs concrete terraces, palms and skyline views with two playgrounds. Plan a daytime walk to see the plaza details.
🏙️ A Plaza Beneath the Towers
Look up from the paving and downtown towers fill the frame. Pershing Square trades the usual blanket on a lawn for concrete terraces, tall palms, and sculptural spheres. Bring your camera for the skyline, then explore the monuments and the elevated Mayan style amphitheater. The amphitheater also hosts concerts and community events, and fountains run through the concrete hard scapes.
The square also has two playgrounds, a welcome detail when your city walk includes younger companions. Head to 532 S. Olive St. The square is open daily from 8 am to 10 pm. Choose a daytime stop to study the architectural details and the shapes across the plaza.
The towers stay in view as you wander, giving this downtown pause a distinctly urban backdrop. For a greener outing another day, the five parks below offer other ways to spend time outside across Los Angeles.
