Peregrine Espresso

Founded in 2008 by Ryan and Jill Jensen after meeting across rival cafe counters, Peregrine grew from an Eastern Market shop into a DC fixture linked to sibling roaster Small Planes Coffee. Daily life behind the bar is serious about craft: staff train through an education-driven wage chart and compete in regional and national Barista and Brewers Cup competitions. That teaching ethos carries over to public classes and events, matched by environmental efforts including wind power, composting, and reusable glass milk bottles.
