Pensacola Ghost Stories From the Saenger to the History Museum
A one-hour guided walk after dark, about a mile on foot past the Seville Quarter and Museum Plaza. This listing sells tickets for ages 13 and up.
Pensacola Ghosts, which runs under the US Ghost Adventures name, leads a group on foot through the downtown historic district after dark. The walk starts at the Saenger Theatre on Palafox Street, passes the Seville Quarter and Museum Plaza, reaches Historic Pensacola Village and ends outside the Pensacola Museum of History. That is about a mile in an hour.
The operator's own booking terms say the walk does not enter privately owned buildings or private property. The museums on the route are closed by the time it starts, and several travelers who hoped to step inside some of the buildings said so in their reviews.

The card below books the one-hour walk. This listing sells a single ticket type, for ages 13 and up, and the price changes with the night of the week and the month.

The meeting point is the first stop. The Saenger Theatre was built in 1925 for vaudeville and silent movies, the theatre says on its own site, and it calls itself the Grand Dame of Palafox. According to the listing, the guide starts with the spirits said to frequent the building and what happened when a psychic medium came to investigate.
The next stop is in the Seville Quarter, the nightlife block on East Government Street, at a building the listing says has stood since the 1800s. Noise can be a problem here. Travelers on several dates say music from nearby bars and street events made the guide hard to hear at the first two stops. One of them stood directly in front of the guide from then on, and that is the simplest fix.
Museum Plaza and the Old Village, From the Sidewalk

The second half stays in the historic district. Museum Plaza is a park behind the Pensacola Museum of History that opened in 2019, according to Historic Pensacola, and the listing makes it the stop for the grim and strange side of local history, with accounts of sightings on that spot. The museum itself is housed in the former Pensacola City Hall, built in 1907, Historic Pensacola says. The last stop is Historic Pensacola Village, which the listing describes as full of properties that show the city's colonial life.
Historic Pensacola's museums close by 4:00 PM and stay shut on Mondays, so on this walk you see them only from outside. Its admission covers the Pensacola Museum of History, the village houses, the Pensacola Children's Museum and the Pensacola Museum of Art for seven days, which makes a daylight visit an easy follow-up.
More Eerie Than Frightening
The operator is upfront about the tone. Its own FAQ says the Pensacola walk is designed to be more eerie than terrifying, with the focus on history, atmosphere and real accounts. The listing's themes are tortured prisoners, Victorian murders and deadly diseases, and the operator adds pirates.
Reviews line up with that. The warmest ones praise guides who know the city's past well, and several of the low ratings come from people who arrived expecting to be scared. The operator's own booking system lets a departure take up to 35 people, and a few travelers describe their group as large, one of them saying that made the guide hard to hear.
Before You Book
- Weather: walks run rain or shine, and the listing does not cancel for weather.
- Ages: this listing sells tickets for ages 13 and up only.
- Dogs: the operator's booking notes welcome dogs that do not disrupt the group; the listing marks service animals as allowed.
- Access: about a mile at a relaxed pace with frequent stops, per the operator. The listing marks the walk as not recommended for people with mobility impairments, travelers with poor cardiovascular health or pregnant travelers. Neither the operator's tour page nor its booking notes mention wheelchair access.
- Add-ons: the listing's closing note mentions an extended tour with up to four more stops; the option sold here is the one-hour walk.
- Gallery Night: on the third Friday of most months, downtown Palafox Street between Main and Garden streets closes to cars from 3 to 10 PM for an arts night that runs 5 to 9 PM. Its 2026 calendar lists November 20 and December 18 for the last two months of the year.
- Parking: the Saenger has no lot of its own and points visitors to the Jefferson Street and Intendencia Street garages. City parking is paid Tuesday through Saturday and free on Sundays, Mondays and federal holidays; the Jefferson Street garage charges USD 1.75 an hour.
Meet at the Saenger Theatre, 118 South Palafox Street, 15 minutes before your start time, and look for a guide in a US Ghost Adventures T-shirt carrying a lantern. Use the full 15 minutes: two travelers in 2024 say their group set off before the listed time.
On the operator's own calendar for late October through late December, walks leave at 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM every night, with a 10:00 PM walk on some October nights. For November and December dates, book the 8:00 or 9:00 PM walk, since those are the only departures that calendar shows. The operator confirms each booking by hand. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund on this listing; inside 24 hours there is no refund. Those are the listing's terms, and the operator's own direct-booking terms are stricter. Tips are not included, and the operator says guides take electronic tips as well as cash.
The map pin marks the meeting point at the Saenger Theatre. The walk ends outside the Pensacola Museum of History on South Jefferson Street.
