Pearl Harbor Hangar 79
4.8 (113)museum
Still scarred by bullet holes from the 1941 attack, this WWII hangar houses decades of restored military aircraft.
Description

Picking up where Hangar 37 leaves off, the 80,000-square-foot facility documents the progression of American air power through the Korean War, Vietnam War, and Gulf Wars. In World War II, it operated as an engine repair and maintenance depot for front-line bombers, fighters, and patrol aircraft. Today, it also serves as the base for The Shealy Restoration Shop, an active workspace dedicated to reviving historic airframes, including the B-17 Swamp Ghost.
