Pastel Pizza started in 2016 when Venezuelan immigrant Juan Rosales and his wife, Rosa Revilla, began selling tequeños to order from their apartment. The venture soon expanded beyond the original cheese-filled snack, adding empanadas and pastelitos stuffed with ground beef, chicken, and pizza to the lineup, with recipes drawing praise for tasting remarkably close to home.
