Description

Designed in 1910 by Seattle’s first Japanese American architect, Sabro Ozaki, the property serves as a living record of Japanese American history in the Pacific Northwest. Guests can stay in the original single room occupancy hotel or drop into the adjoining Panama Hotel Tea & Coffee for teas, local coffee, and pastries. In the basement, the hotel preserves belongings left behind by Japanese Americans forced into internment camps during World War II, alongside the intact Hashidate-Yu bathhouse.
