Pali Puka
4.7 (108)attraction
A windswept opening carved into the sheer Koʻolau cliffs, framing dramatic views across Kaneohe from a narrow ridge.
Description

Climbing above the Nuʻuanu Pali Lookout, the route covers a 0.7-mile round trip below Puʻu Lanihuli, gaining roughly 500 feet along a small section of the Koʻolau Summit Trail. The path leads to a natural stone hole over the island’s east side, but the trek is defined by precarious conditions: an unmaintained trail with extreme winds and severe drop-offs where a fall would be fatal. Because of the relentless exposure, it is recommended only for experienced hikers comfortable with high-exposure ridge walking.
